Meet The Makers

Welcome, Yarners, Weirdos & Wool-Wranglers!

We’re Deb and Kris – two fibre-flinging, yarn-hoarding, project-starting, WIP-loving women with a whole lot of sass and absolutely no regrets about how much wool we own.

Little Shop for Yarners was born in the chaos of 2020 and officially launched in 2021. Why? Because the world was a mess and we needed more yarn. What started as a cheeky idea between two yarn-obsessed mates quickly spun into a full-blown yarn-slinging operation. We’re proudly based in Australia (world domination coming soon) and here to bring you the best bits of yarn life: squishy skeins, indie makers, big laughs, and a no-BS approach to craft.

Meet the Makers

Left: Kris – yarn whisperer, farm boss, and queen of the crochet hook.

Right: Deb – science geek, bone collector, and proud yarn addict.

Deb is a science nerd, bone museum founder, idea generator, and all-round yarn tragic. She fell hook-first into crochet while wrangling a community coral reef project for the Gympie Bone Museum and hasn’t stopped since. She’s partial to sugar skulls, neon yarn, weird facts, and overambitious projects. Has she finished that temperature blanket from 2021? No. Will she start another one anyway? Absolutely.

Kris splits her time between paying people, managing a cattle farm, crocheting her heart out, and wrangling skeins like a pro. She’s a master of the tractor and the tension gauge. Designing, teaching, squishing – Kris lives and breathes yarn. Someday she might even finish knitting her first pair of socks (we believe in her).

Our first collab project was a community crochet coral reef. It lives on at the museum, alongside the secret contribution from one of the Mr Yarners, whose one attempt at crochet somehow didn’t suck. Don’t tell him we said that.

Why We’re Here

🧶 Because yarn is therapy.

🧶 Because creativity needs community.

🧶 Because there are never too many WIPs.

🧶 And because we bloody love it.

At Little Shop for Yarners, we’re not here to be posh. We’re here to be real – a little feral, a lot of fun, and always fibre first. Whether you’re just picking up your first hook or you’ve been knitting since the 70s, you’re welcome here.

Got a yarn you’re desperate to try? A question that needs answering? A wishlist longer than your arm? Hit us up. We love a good yarn (pun very much intended).

In yarn we trust,

Deb & Kris
